EDIT 1/8/19: Due to unfortunate and uncontrollable circumstances over the last few weeks, the Smash Ultimate review, and by extension, the return of the blog, will be postponed until January 29. Apologies for the delay. Though it may not be much compensation, the January column in the ECHO newspaper, a review of interactive film Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, will be released on the ECHO website within the next two weeks.
Electric Retrospective will go on hiatus yet again, and as per usual, a look into the future is in order.
Following a break in December, the blog will return on January 8 with a full review of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. This will be preceded by the December column discussing the six newcomers, set to release in the December issue of the ECHO in the next two weeks, although the blog article will quickly recap the column for information’s sake.
As far as future columns go, the release schedule for 2019 will significantly impact their topics, but seeing as release dates are currently unclear for most major titles, it may take time to figure out which stories will be written. The blog, on the other hand, has multiple determined stories outside of the Smash Ultimate review. DLC from previously reviewed games will be detailed, including the costume packs for Shantae: Half Genie Hero, the Heroes in Another Dimension mode for Kirby Star Allies and any other DLC yet to be announced for other releases.
Additionally, the Shovel Knight Retrospective series will conclude this spring given the final release date for remaining content was announced recently. This will be split into two parts: Part 4, covering King of Cards and the amiibo for Plague Knight, Specter Knight and King Knight, will release on April 23, while Part 5, covering Shovel Knight Showdown and giving closing thoughts, will release on May 14.
